I always put a sample of an art project on the wall and then tell my kindergarteners to « make it! » I give them nothing to trace or cut out. Just a model. This really has them practice their fine motor skills, problem solving skills, and creativity! Yeah it might not look perfect, but it doesn’t need to me!
